Helping you discover your own path.

Life’s challenges often arrive unexpectedly, shaking the foundation of our sense of self and purpose. These periods of change can leave us feeling uncertain, adrift, and disconnected from who we truly are.

Transitional times, whether they stem from the end of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, a career change, or a shift in personal circumstances, can force us to reevaluate our direction. These changes often leave us questioning our path, our identity, and what truly matters. At times, we might feel we've lost touch with our authentic self, or that our dreams and aspirations have become clouded or out of reach. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore these feelings and rediscover their sense of direction.

As a Person-centred Therapist, I am deeply committed to supporting individuals during these pivotal moments. I believe that every person has an innate capacity for growth and healing, even in the face of life's most challenging times.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

— Dr. Carl Rogers, 'On Becoming a Person'

FAQs

What is Person-centred Counselling?

Person-centred counselling is an empathetic, supportive form of therapy that focuses entirely on you as an individual – your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

But what truly makes it effective is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. The heart of this approach is creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. It's through this safe, trusting connection that healing and personal growth can take place.

How can counselling help?

People seek counselling for many reasons; perhaps you’re struggling with a current crisis or resurfacing past experiences. Or maybe you’re unsure of what is going on for you, but you just know you want things to feel different. Person-centred counselling can support you to:

  • Feel more confident and self-aware

  • Understand and manage difficult emotions

  • Heal from past hurts or confusion

  • Build healthier relationships with yourself and others

  • Make meaningful changes in your life

What can I expect from counselling?

You lead the way in this process. You choose what we talk about and how deeply you want to go. There’s no pressure, no rush, and no “right” way to be in the room. My role is to walk beside you, helping you make sense of your inner world and discover your own path forward.

Each session is 50- 60 minutes long and depending on your needs, I offer both focused short-term work and longer ongoing work.

I offer face to face counselling at a practice in Lymington. Alternatively, I can offer online video calls or telephone counselling if this would be more suited to your needs.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me via email if you have any questions and I’d be happy to arrange a 10-15 minute phone conversation.
